Notes

Sound, monitors and FX

  1. 1

Separate monitor mixes for each performer if possible (3 mixes). We carry wired IEMs which can be used instead of, or alongside, wedge monitors. For the four-piece, 4 mixes.

  2. 2

Each monitor mix should carry a good balance of all instruments and vocals (stomp and bass may be left out of the monitors if needed).

  3. 3

Our sound relies heavily on low-frequency effects, so subs are required where possible — a driving kick and bass-heavy sound is preferable. “Sub drop” is a sine sweep from roughly 72 Hz down to 20 Hz.

  4. 4

Reverb (plate or similar) on the vocal and whistle mics. Solo whistle pieces want heavy reverb. If possible, relay the FX subtly back into the monitor mix.

  5. 5

On Allen & Heath QU or Behringer/Midas XR consoles we can provide a scene for reference ahead of the show.

Consoles: Allen & Heath QU series · Behringer / Midas XR series — we can send a scene file in advance.
